The beginning of a Legacy

Odessa Walston

My story My Way began with my dear and beloved grandmother!  She was my life, joy and inspiration.  Odessa, born January 1, 1918 (New Years Day) in Camden County, NC was the 6th daughter born to Alfred and Addie Walston.  She was the mother of  eight children, a homemaker, pianist, organist, vocalist, designer, seamstress, evangelist, coordinator, and soooo much more.  And to me, she was everything a Grandmother could be... beautiful, (both inward and out) loving, kind, caring and unbelievably strong!

She was "Mother" to me because she loved and  raised me as her very own.  I feel as though I have inherited many of her fine qualities and her strong will.  She taught me how to be kind, caring and independent.  She was a wonderful mentor to many people and loved by all.  She remains the "center" of my shining stars.

Odessa & Winford Lamb Sr. were married in Camden County, NC. and to this union were born 8 children.  Winford is my Grandfather and was the baby of 6 other children born to Chloe Perkins and James Lamb.
