Stella a slave woman born to Emma Duke according to documented source had 17 children of which 16 lived according to the 1920 census!  One was by Charles McGrew, Fourteen of her children are believed to be by an Irish man by the name of Samuel E. Upton, and the last two were by George Davis, believed to be colored!  The children listed above are some of the grandchildren from all partnerships!
